Earlier this month, during maintenance work to the church roof, a fire broke out and we are hugely grateful for the quick thinking of a local parishoner who managed to put out the fire with a fire extinguisher. Without his prompt action the fire could have been much worse. No-one was seriously injured and the fire damage has since been fully repaired. Many thanks also to everyone from church who came out to tidy up the following day. The smell of smoke may persist for a few more weeks but thankfully that is the only lasting effect.
